Anthony Adkins

Anthony Adkins, violoncello
Anthony did his early work on the cello with Jungshin Lewis and Adolfo Odnoposoff, and he was one of the last students of Lev Aronson. He then studied with Carter Enyeart at the University of North Texas, where he served as principal cellist of the university orchestras and was three times featured as concerto soloist. After doing graduate work at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with Alan Harris, he was named principal cellist of the Knoxville Symphony. In 1998 he returned to Dallas to take up the position of assistant principal cellist with the Dallas Opera Orchestra.

Anthony and his wife Erica, who works as an accounts manager for Xerox, started out 2001 in an exciting way with the birth of a daughter Taylor, and then in 2003 welcomed her little sister Parker. Somewhat to the surprise of the family (who have a way of remembering youthful high spirits!), Anthony has proved to be a devoted and involved father.
